"Doddridge's Notes" first appeared in 1824 and a second edition with some additions was published in 1876. This reprint has been made from the third, enlarged edition which appeared in 1912; in addition to the original "Notes" it includes a memoir of Rev. Doddridge by his daughter Narcissa; and several other additions, such as a short history of the Doddridge family and biographical notes on Major Samuel McColloch, Captain Oliver Brown, the Teter and Manchester families, Michael Cresap and Simon Girty.
