Haunted History Hayride Hayride through historic Bushy Run Battlefield
Clash of Cultures Students will examine the life of a soldier in royal American Regiment and the life of an Ohio Valley Native american on the changing western frontier.
2009 Historic Weapons Show


The Old Westmoreland Rifles-Collectors Show Association’s annual historic weapon’s show displays the weapons that helped to open the Western Pennsylvania frontier. Items will include Pennsylvania Long rifles, muskets, pistols, powder horns and much more.
A donation of $5.00 is the admission to this event.

Christine O’Toole was one of the authors of the book entitled Pennsylvania’s Forbes Trail. She will be giving a presentation on the sites you can visit and things to do along the Forbes Trail.

13th Annual Ohio Country Conference


The year 1759 will be the theme of the conference. An international group of historians will present topics on the campaign against Fort Ticonderoga and Crown Point, the campaign against Fort Niagara, the Battle of Quebec, Sir William Johnson, Andrew Montour, Captivity Narratives and other topics. Speakers include: Daniel Barr, Robert Emerson, Michael Galban, William Hunt, Fintan O’Toole, Walter Powell, Matthew Ward and Nicholas Westbrook.

246th Anniversary Reenactment of the 
Battle of Bushy Run

Battle of Bushy Run Reenactment

The annual battle reenactment shows how Colonel Henry Bouquet and his troops defeated Native forces that had ambushed the British in 1763 on their way to save the besieged Fort Pitt. The morning battle portrays the events that occurred on August 5th and the afternoon engagement shows the August 6th tactics that led to British victory. Also featured are period 18th century military camps, an 18th century trades area, 18th century craftspeople, and other special programs.

Bushy Run Battlefield's Annual Haunted History Hayride Enjoy riding a hay wagon while being frightened with historic scenes from Pontiac’s War. Events include a story teller, admission to the museum, gift shop and a concession stand.
